Dartmoor Yurt Holidays accommodation

yurtroof395pxBecause our yurts are from Mongolia they have four layers of felt, cotton and canvas to keep you warm, dry and cosy.  When the wood-burner is lit and the flames of the candles are flickering in the Moroccan lanterns, there is nowhere more magical or enchanting.

And if you love listening to birdsong and the wind in the trees, lighting campfires and sitting out under the stars then come and stay in one of our traditional Mongolian yurts at Dartmoor Yurt Holidays.

We have two yurt holidays to choose from and each yurt has its own unique charm.

Lake Yurt

Lake Yurt is on the banks of a small lake, with an abundance of wonderful wildlife and a little rowing boat tied to the handmade wooden jetty. Walk across the rustic bridge to your toilet and shower which are nestled in bluebell carpeted woodland.

Sunshine Yurt

Sunshine Yurt is next to a babbling brook in a sun-filled meadow with far reaching views and horses grazing. There is plenty of space for the kids to run around or play on the swing while you sit by the campfire enjoying the view.

new-yurt-photos-006Each yurt is totally private with its own rustic kitchen, compost toilet, wood-fired shower and fire pit. If you want total privacy then Dartmoor Yurt Holidays is the place for you. Or you and your friends can rent both yurts and have a wonderful sociable experience. Staying in a yurt helps you unwind and let go of all the stresses of everyday life without the distractions and pressures of modern technology.

Each yurt can sleep up to 5 people and has a double bed, a small double futon and a single futon.

Bell Tent

A new addition at Dartmoor Yurt Holidays: a beautiful bell tent…

The Bell Tent is 15ft in diameter and is set in a totally private and peaceful location with stunning views of Dartmoor and access to its own little pond.

The bell tent can sleep up to 4 people and has a double bed and a small double futon.

Although the accent is on glamourous camping (glamping), Lake Yurt and Sunshine Yurt both have their own excellent, eco-friendly, facilities, including:

  • Fully equipped rustic kitchens with dining tables and chairs
  • Fire pits for cooking under the stars
  • Heated showers (using age-old African techniques)
  • Compost toilets
  • Hammocks
  • Picnic benches
  • Swings

We provide duvets and pillows. Please bring your own bed linen or we can provide it at an extra charge of £7.50 per person.
