Welcome to Dartmoor Yurt Holidays at New Cott Farm

Yurt Holidays on Dartmoor offers the chance to stay in a traditional Mongolian yurt in your own completely secluded setting. Get back to nature and experience the beauty and simplicity of life.

There are two yurt sites to choose from, and each of these is completely and utterly private, meaning that you really will be getting away from it all. Lake Yurt is by the edge of a lake, with its own little rowing boat, and where you will often see fish jumping at dusk. The yurt is also next to bluebell carpeted woodland which you enter over a rustic wooden bridge.
Sunshine Yurt is in a meadow, where horses sometimes graze, with far-reaching views, and, when the weather's good, is bathed in sunshine from morning until night.

Both Lake Yurt and Sunshine Yurt have their own excellent eco-friendly facilities, including rustic field kitchens, fire pits for cooking under the stars, heated showers (using age old African techniques) and compost toilets. The yurts themselves were made in Mongolia and are beautifully decorated, both inside and out. Each has a log burning stove inside and the yurts are incredibly well insulated, keeping them warm on cold days and cool on hot days. Up to 5 people can stay in either yurt, meaning that that they can be hired separately, or, for larger groups, both yurts can be booked at the same time.

The yurts are situated at New Cott Farm, on the very edge of Dartmoor National Park, offering stunning views and a wealth of things to do and see. There are horse riding stables nearby, kayaking in the river or you can walk straight onto open moorland from our farm. You can buy freshly laid eggs from us, and vegetables pulled straight from the ground.
